Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the service industry, based in BIRMINGHAM, Michigan. The role involves the processing of customer credit applications, maintaining accurate customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. Responsibilities: Audit and process accounts payable entries in a timely and accurate manner Review and process weekly check runs while ensuring adherence to company and regulatory guidelines Manage the flow of information and documentation effectively Recognize issues and take initiative towards corrective action in all areas of responsibility Process accounts receivable accurately and in a timely manner Verify that Accounts Payable, Exchange and Accounts Receivable accounts balances tie at the close of each month Review jobs to ensure they are in good standing Maintain professional relationships with internal and external customers Provide clear direction and follow through for issue resolution Coordinate and provide documentation as requested Exercise independent judgment in an ethical manner and adhere to processes and procedures Work under time constraints to meet specific deadlines, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail Utilize Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze data Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Requirements Proven experience in Accounts Payable (AP) or a similar role in the service industry Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets Ability to handle sensitive and confidential financial information with discretion Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills, both verbal and written Familiarity with accounting software and systems is a plus Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is desirable.
