Job Description :: Assigned to the organization's IT department, serving multiple functional programs, use GIS software tools to design digital maps using geospatial data and analyze spatial and non-spatial information. Design, develop, and implement systems and databases to access and store geospatial data. Responsible for the capture, storage, manipulation, and application of geographic information for the purpose of developing applications, maps, and solutions. Provide quality documentation for metadata, systems, and user information. Use GIS software tools and data to produce results and display information per specifications provided including but not limited to print production, digital layers, symbology, thematic classification, web applications, and integrations.

Responsibilities:
  • Use GIS software to create dynamic, customizable maps to identify, explore, understand, and analyze location-based data.
  • Determine if dataset meets the application requirements.
  • Create, convert, or manipulate data and databases for use.
  • Work closely with the stakeholders, business owners, project managers and business analyst to implement functional requirements for data, map, publication, and application design.
  • Determine the best way to render and display information as it applies to the intended purpose.

Duties:
  • DEVELOP - Use GIS Software and to develop GIS applications and solutions
  • SUPPORT - Support new and existing GIS solutions in operations or maintenance.
  • ANALYZE - Analyze existing systems and data to develop enhancements, migrate solutions, or optimize performance.
  • DESIGN - Design and plan the application, automation, or integration of GIS data and solutions.
  • TESTING - Testing of data, applications, integrations, and solutions.
  • COORDINATE - Coordinate and/or support solutions during stabilization and transition to operations and maintenance with team members

Skills Required:
  • GIS technology and software tools • Internet technology • Database design, development, and management • Familiarity with programming languages Skills Preferred Microsoft Office software and tools SQL Server Database

Experience Required: 3 years' experience developing GIS systems and products.

Experience Preferred:4-7 years' experience developing

GIS Systems and products.

Esri GIS certifications are desirable but not required.

Education Required:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Geometrics, Geographic Information Systems, Geography, or a closely related field which must include completion of at least two college-level courses in Geographic Information Systems.
