Overview We are seeking a Program Finance Lead to join our team in Huntsville, AL. The selected individual will prepare and maintain budgets, establish earnings plans, and develop estimates at completion of assigned government aerospace/defense projects. In this role, the individual will serve a vital function by applying earned value management, finance, and accounting skills to approve requisitions; prepare financial reporting on major defense programs, use metrics associated with management best practices and prepare reports to reflect awards, sales, profit, and cash. May also assist proposal teams, develop bases-of-estimate, provide actuals data, and support fact-finding/negotiations as needed. Essential Functions

Compile budget and project cost performance (external and internal financial reports) data and present to management. Understand and incorporate necessary changes. Assist in the analysis of data and prepares financial reports, including graphs and charts, for program managers and other internal and external customers. Create financial spreadsheets including ad hoc reports. Interface with management on financial matters.

Assist in providing forecasts of program awards, sales, profit and staffing by entering financial data into Excel spreadsheets. Review data.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics or an appropriate discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

12+ years of directly related experience,

Ability to accurately perform financial calculations used in cost/budget analysis

Computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word. Access is a plus.

Proficiency with the use of imported and/or exported data.

Understanding of general accounting principles and earned value management, including the ability to accurately assess cost data and forecast expenditures.

Additional qualifications

Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with financial and non-financial professionals at all levels

Significant experience in the Aerospace/Defense industry

Ability/desire to mentor less experienced team membersAbility to work independently with minimal supervision
