What You'll Get to Do:

The Software Engineer III position will support the Army Futures Command (AFC) Assured Positioning, Navigation, Timing, and Space (APNT/Space) Cross-Functional Team (CFT). The APNT/Space CFT is responsible for enabling the delivery of advanced requirements and enabling technologies for APNT, Space, Multi Domain Operations (MDO), High Altitude (HA), and Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR). Working together with a core team of experts, the CFT informs operational requirements and technical performance through continuous experimentation and prototyping, technology integration, and soldier feedback. Through this process, the APNT CFT supports the AFC in delivering next generation weapons, vehicles, and equipment at an accelerated rate, giving Army Forces the ability to deploy, fight, and win decisively against any adversary anytime and anywhere.

More About the Role

Performs a variety of systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to the development, operation, and maintenance of software, encompassing techniques and procedures often regulated by a software development process with the purpose of improving the reliability and maintainability of software systems.

Establishes software information and engineering requirements which is necessitated by the potential complexity of those software systems, which may contain millions of lines of code.

Applies the discipline of software engineering for specific technical problems and procedures, including knowledge, tools, and methods for software requirements, software design, software construction, software testing, and software maintenance tasks.

Relates the disciplines of software engineering to the disciplines of computer science, computer engineering, management, mathematics, project management, quality management, software ergonomics, and systems engineering.

You'll Bring These Qualifications

Minimum of 12+ years of experience in the field or in a related area

Must have at a minimum a High School Diploma

Must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures

Must have extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and independently performs a wide variety of complicated tasks.

Able to provide consultation on complex projects and be the top-level contributor/specialist.

Must have an active secret clearance

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

BA/BS preferred, some positions may require master's degree and/or Ph.D.

TS/SCI preferred
