Description A growing Mining - Coal company is looking for a long-term contract / temporary Senior Financial Analyst to bring leadership and experience to their finance team. Handling project spending, planning, forecasting, and annual budgeting, the Senior Financial Analyst consultant is the primary contact for all financial questions. In order to provide decision-making support for future company investments, you will also perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments in accordance with public reporting requirements. This Senior Financial Analyst will be situated in Brookwood, Alabama.How you will make an impact
Advance existing management reporting - analyze financial results, distill and synthesize key issues, communicate integral updates to senior management
Cultivate dynamic relationships with Finance/Accounting leadership of key business partners
Assist in other ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests
Implement financial analysis as part of business performance optimization
Collaborate with Functional leads to execute management reporting, accounting and compliance advisement, and coordinate alignment of operational initiatives
Develop repeatable business, operational and financial processes widely understood by all necessary teams
Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting - analyzing financial results, distilling/synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risk, and communicating critical updates to senior leadership
Coordinate with Operations and Accounting to discreetly and accurately track financial results in order to drive improved management reporting Requirements - CPA or MBA preferred
Expert Microsoft Excel skills required
Skilled at process reengineering and optimization
Strong proficiency in office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
Comprehensive knowledge of Corporate Financial Planning
Budget forecasting experience
Command of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A)
Proven knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint
Ability to work cross functionally and influence appropriately
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Finance or Business BA/BS degree or one in a related field required
Able to think critically and operate effectively with management
