Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. plus on-call and emergency service
Employment Type: Full-Time, Year-Round (40+ hrs/week)
Pay: $25.00 – $32.00/hour (DOE) + Benefits starting in January 2026
About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team in Anchorage. This position contributes to the upkeep, safety, and operational efficiency of multiple apartment buildings and is responsible for a wide range of building and equipment maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
Working with the Manager, the Maintenance Technician’s duties will include those items listed below and any additional tasks assigned to ensure that all apartment units, community facilities, and areas are safe, well-maintained, compliant with local codes, and are clean and tidy
Diagnose and perform repairs on plumbing, electrical, drywall, locks, windows, appliances, and more
Complete apartment make-ready checklists and prepare units for new tenants
Paint interiors/exteriors and perform carpentry as needed
Maintain and repair HVAC systems; replace water heaters
Respond to service requests in a timely, professional manner
Perform daily property inspections and maintain common areas
Complete preventative maintenance and maintain accurate records
Keep the maintenance shop clean and stocked with inventory
Coordinate with vendors, obtain bids, and manage contractor schedules
Be available for after-hours emergencies as needed.
Perform seasonal outdoor maintenance: snow removal, mowing, landscaping
Qualifications:
General apartment maintenance experience required
Some knowledge of basic appliance repair, carpentry, plumbing, drywall, and electrical systems. On-site training with the Maintenance Supervisor provides an opportunity to expand your knowledge.
Must own a full set of general basic tools. The company provides or rents other tools and equipment needed for specific jobs.
A valid driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, and a personal truck are required. The company reimburses employees for work-related mileage at IRS rates.
Must reside in Anchorage (within a 15-minute drive of all of our apartment buildings).
Strong customer service skills, dependability, and attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written)
Physical Requirements:
Lift and carry up to 45 lbs. frequently
Push/pull up to 200 lbs. using proper equipment
Frequent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and balancing
