We are a small tax and accounting practice located in Anchorage seeking a dedicated bookkeeper to manage client financial records and provide administrative support. The selected candidate will utilize QuickBooks (Desktop & Online) and Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate and organized financial data, while assisting with essential office operations. We offer a relaxed environment with flexible scheduling for individuals who excel in precise, detail-oriented tasks.

Principal Responsibilities:

Record and reconcile financial transactions for client accounts.

Oversee accounts payable and receivable, perform bank reconciliations, and maintain general ledger for clients.

Generate financial reports and support month-end closing procedures.

Adhere to established bookkeeping standards and best practices.

Assist with QuickBooks configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization as required.

Perform administrative duties, including appointment scheduling, client correspondence via email and telephone, document filing, and other general office functions.

Qualifications:

Minimum 1-2 years of professional bookkeeping experience.

Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Desktop editions (essential).

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry, formulas, pivot tables, and report generation (necessary).

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) (required).

Exceptional attention to detail, organizational acumen, and foundational accounting principles.

Demonstrated reliability, self-motivation, and ability to work autonomously.

Prior experience in administrative tasks (e.g., scheduling and client communications) is advantageous but not mandatory.

Schedule and Work Arrangement:

Flexible scheduling, approximately 15-30 hours per week initially, with opportunities for expansion.

Primarily in-person at our Anchorage office, with hybrid remote capabilities.

Hours may be adjusted to align with the candidate's availability, suitable for part-time professionals.
