The Position:

Alaskan Brewing Company is searching for a Human Resources Manager, who will serve as an HR department of one. The HR Manager will work collaboratively with the Director of Business Operations and has responsibility for the Human Resource function, including recruitment, benefits administration, employee engagement, and employee communication. The list of responsibilities is not inclusive of all duties this position is responsible for and simply represents key functions of the position:

Responsible for the full recruitment and hiring function working with department managers on postings, screening, interviews, and offers.

Accurately process payroll to include payroll deductions, salary adjustments, timesheet reconciliation & time/attendance tracking.

Conduct new hire orientation and employee exits including new hire onboarding, 30 day follow up meetings, exit paperwork, & coordination of exit interviews.

Assist with benefit administration by conducting benefit enrollment, responding to employee questions, and maintaining recordkeeping.

Assist with development and maintenance of job descriptions; make recommendations for revisions as needed.

Provides support on employee relations, performance management, progressive discipline, policies & procedures & addressing employee concerns in coordination with the Director of Business Operations.

Works in partnership with the Director of Business Operations and department managers to maintain staff training and develop new training programs.

Maintain HR information systems and employee files.

Responsible for all legal notices and postings, and for maintaining all required records and reports.

Maintain employee manual; review, research and make recommendations on changes to all HR policies, including forms, hiring and termination procedures, payroll, compensation, etc.; maintain documentation of all personnel policies.

Assist with various annual business audits.

Collaborate with the Director of Business Operations on various analyses such as compensation and benefit analysis.

Coordinates employee engagement activities and events.

Assist with other HR or Administrative duties as needed.

Knowledge and skills that are beneficial for this position include:

6+ years of progressive HR generalist experience.

B.A. in HR Management or related discipline preferred.

SHRM or PHR certification preferred.

Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, recruitment, employee relations, safety, employee engagement, and employee development.

Prior payroll experience.

Demonstrated outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Strong knowledge of MS Office products and HRIS required.
