Job Description: Part-Time Room Service Attendant, Hotel Captain Cook

Summary of Position:

The Room Service Attendant is responsible for managing all aspects of room service operations within the outlet they are assigned to. This includes taking guest orders, coordinating with kitchen staff, preparing trays for delivery, delivering food and beverages to guest rooms, and collecting payment. The Room Service Attendant ensures orders are accurate, delivered promptly, and presented in accordance with the hotel's service standards, while maintaining compliance with all liquor laws and regulations. In addition to room service duties, the Room Service Attendant provides support to the outlet they are working in by assisting with tasks such as bussing tables, stocking supplies, or performing other duties as needed. This position plays a key role in enhancing the overall guest experience and maintaining efficient operations within the assigned outlet. This is a morning position, starting at 5:00 am.

Key Responsibilities:

o Guest Service & Order Management

-Provide exceptional and personalized service throughout the entire guest dining experience

-Take accurate phone orders efficiently, including noting modifications, allergies, or dietary restrictions

-Upsell menu items, including appetizers, soups, salads, specials, and beverages

-Memorize and describe daily specials using appealing and descriptive language

-Thank guests by name and express appreciation for their patronage

o Delivery & Tray Service

-Deliver food and beverage orders promptly and professionally to guest rooms

-Retrieve trays and service items from guest rooms after use

-Coordinate with cooks and kitchen staff for special orders and presentation expectations

-Coordinate with reservations for delivery of amenities (e.g., fruit baskets, champagne, special requests)

o Outlet & Operational Support

-Assist in maintaining clean, organized workstations and replenishing supplies

- Support outlet staff with bussing tables, restocking, and other tasks as needed

-Open and close assigned work areas according to Preferred Hotel Standards

-Ensure accurate handling of payments and coordinate with Accounting for cash accountability

o Team & Communication

-Communicate effectively with Food & Beverage Director, Restaurant/Bar Manager, and kitchen staff

-Follow proper procedures for special guest requests and room service protocols

-Physically able to lift 25–50 lbs and stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours)

-Adhere to all health and safety standards and hotel policies

-Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Education:

o High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum Experience:

o Prefer 1-year hotel customer service and/or serving preferred ( hotel or restaurant setting)

o TAPs Card certification

o Food Handler’s Card certification

o Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills

o Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure

o Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and team-oriented attitude

o Excellent problem -solving and reasoning abilities
