RESPONSIBILITIES:A Kforce client is seeking to hire a Senior Data Center Engineer in Anchorage, Alaska (AK).
Responsibilities include: Senior Data Center Engineer will provide senior level data center support Assist with the planning of system design, layout, and development of baseline configuration for an enterprise compute, storage, and virtualization environment Perform discovery and assessment of existing storage infrastructure and data sets, design, document a detailed solution architecture that includes all agency sites, systems, connectivity, power, and cooling Assist with developing test plans and procedures to validate the client's requirement for reliability and high availability Senior Data Center Engineer will deploy health monitoring and predictive alerts across all sites and networks Analyze legacy infrastructure and provide recommendations for lifecycle, modernization, and migration strategies Senior Data Center Engineer will lead detailed architectural conversations with customers and projects as directed by the clientREQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or IT related discipline Minimum of 8140/8570 IAT Level II and CCNP Data Center required 8+ years of relevant experience supporting projects of similar size, scope, and complexity Experience with Nexus 7 and 9 platforms, fiber channel, and Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCOE) that support both Hyper-V, EXSI, F5 load balancers, and standalone systems with emphasis on High Availability Technical experience working with Netapp, VMware product lines, along with Cisco Nexus portfolio, Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS), Microsoft and Linux server infrastructure, with backup and recovery technologies May be subject to non-standard work hours and approximately one after hours call per week Must have a strong working knowledge of Cisco, Netapp EXSI, and VMware products in a data center environment Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified informationKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
