DescriptionThis position is remote and can sit in the footprint of Providence in the states of AK, WA, OR, CA, TX or MT.This position leads or participates in data governance activities as part of the Data Governance team within IS-Healthcare Intelligence and reports to the Data Governance Sr. Manager or other Data Governance leadership. The position conducts data governance activities such as business and technical metadata management, data lineage definition, data protection, business stakeholder and data steward coordination and other related activities.

This position leads master data management (MDM) business and technical engagements, including owning overall responsibility for a single domain and providing MDM practice guidance to other Data Governance-led MDM domains.

This position assists in implementing data protection policies using a standard data protection framework and implementation plans.

This position assists In conducting data profiling for use in data quality management and remediation, as well as in classification of data.

The position will support a principal data governance analyst who acts as lead for a data governance sub-team assigned to a specific portfolio of stakeholder groups and initiatives.

Under the leadership and direction of the sub-team lead, job duties include:

Working with data stewards to develop and ingest business context for data elements.

Work with business stakeholder groups and data stewards to identify and define data governance implications of various business initiatives.

Work with technical stewards and data custodians to develop, store and publish technical metadata.

Work with business stakeholders to define domain-specific MDM requirements and priorities.

Work with data engineering teams to implement domain-specific MDM requirements.

Attend Healthcare Intelligence (HI) scrum team meetings and provide input about data governance tasks and activities.

Understand the data governance implications of PHS policies, and where applicable, develop or update HI policies.

Understand the data governance implications of data privacy laws and policies (HIPAA, PHI, PII) and how they can be implemented and operationalized.

Understand and interact with various business and technical stakeholders that play a role in data governance and propagate data governance practices.

Define or update business and data governance processes as part of the data governance playbook and contribute to data governance best practices.

Understand and integrate data governance implications and activities as part of various technologies.

Execute other data governance-related activities, as assigned.

Required qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Informatics. Or 4 years of related equivalent educ/experience

8 years of Related experience

6 years of experience leading technical teams in a complex and fast-moving environment.

Strong experience in leveraging the power of data and metrics to drive behavior, process and priority decisions across the team and IS (Information Services).

Preferred qualifications:

Previous direct experience in curating metadata assets using a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) data governance platform (e.g., Informatica. Collibra, Alation or others)

5 years of practical experience in business stakeholder engagement

5 years of related experience in data and/or Product Management experience with direct Production ownership.

3 years of related experience in implementing and supporting MDM

5 years of direct experience working with business and technical metadata management

5 years of experience working on a team developing data solutions

5 years of experience in process modeling and workflow management

5 years of experience as part of a formal IS/IT project team.

Understanding of formal data governance principles (DMBOK or other references)

Professional certification in data governance/data management (CDMP or others)

Previous experience in the Healthcare industry

The salary range listed for this position MIN:$56.52 to MAX:$92.78 per hour is based upon the primary work location Irvine, CA posted. This position is remote. Salary range and offers are determined by internal pay equity and geographic cost of living differences. Salary rage will vary from State and region.
