Structural Engineer

The Structural Engineer will design structures that withstand Alaskan winters, earthquakes, and high winds; crunch numbers; analyze stresses; and make steel beams feel invincible. The Structural Engineer will collaborate with architects and civil, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection engineers (and maybe even find yourself on a site visit where you can catch king salmon).Job responsibilities:Analyze structures using computer analysis programsPrepare structural plans, details, specifications, and related construction observationsLead structural and multi-discipline projectsReview other engineers’ designs and project structural drawingsInterpret and coordinate with architectural drawingsParticipate in design progress meetingsAssist with project proposalsObserve on-site structural construction
