Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 11:35am - 8:05pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.We offer 18 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 5:00pm CST, Monday-Friday. Respond to and resolve, on the first call, customer service inquires and issues by identifying the topic and type of assistance the caller needs such as benefits, eligibility and claims, financial spending accounts and correspondence

Help guide and educate customers about the fundamentals and benefits of consumer-driven health care topics to select the best benefit plan options, maximize the value of their health plan benefits and choose a quality care provider

Initiate proactive outreach to members as needed, which may involve welcoming new members to our health plans, addressing gaps in care, reviewing coverage, and referring & enrolling them to internal specialists and programs based on their needs and eligibility

Contact care providers (doctor’s offices) on behalf of the customer to assist with appointment scheduling or connections with internal specialists for assistance

Assist customers in navigating myuhc.com and other UnitedHealth Group websites and encourage and reassure them to become self-sufficient

Initially sourced as a Tier 1 Advocate the journey of this position will ultimately lead to a Premier Advocate to service our Premier Clients.

This role is equally challenging and rewarding. You’ll be called on to research complex issues pertaining to the caller’s health, status and potential plan options. To do this, you’ll need to navigate across multiple databases which requires fluency in computer navigation and toggling while confidently and compassionately engaging with the caller.You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma / GED or Equivalent work experience

Must be 18 years of age or older

1+ years of experience helping, resolving, or advocating on behalf of members or customers in an office/ customer service environment

Experience using computer and Windows PC applications including strong keyboard and navigation skills

Ability to work 11:35am - 8:05pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous Call Center experience

Sales or account management experience

Health Care/Insurance environment (familiarity with medical terminology, health plan documents, or benefit plan design)

Social work, behavioral health, disease prevention, health promotion and behavior change (working with vulnerable population

Telecommuting Requirements:

Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy

Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)

Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
