The Cyber Security Senior (SME)will provide information technology services and supportforthe US Army Regional Cyber Center program responsible for operating, managing, and defending the Army’s NIPRNet and Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) CONUS portion of the GIG, and the NIPRNet and SIPRNet DoDIN-A.The candidate will provide Cyber Security services to aid the Government in securing DODIN-A information systems and networks (NIPRNet, SIPRNet) as dictated by AR 25-2, AR 380-5, and all other applicable DoD, Army, and RCC-CONUS security policies and procedures.Become an integral part of a professionally diverse team while working at an industry-leading organization, where work/life balance and employees come first. Support the development and implementation of cybersecurity strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Advise senior leadership on emerging security threats, trends, and technologies, providing recommendations for strategic initiatives.

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and threats to information systems.

Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Support security audits, both internal and external, to validate the effectiveness of security controls.

Support incident response efforts, including preparation, detection, containment, eradication, and recovery from security incidents.

Post-incident analysis to identify root causes and implement lessons learned to prevent future incidents.

Design and implementation of secure network architectures, ensuring the integration of security controls into all IT systems and applications.

Support evaluation of security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), encryption solutions, and endpoint protection.

Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that security is embedded in the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including secure coding practices and application security testing

Support the collection, analysis, and dissemination of threat intelligence to proactively identify and mitigate potential security risks.

The operation of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, ensuring continuous monitoring and alerting of security events.

Remain informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and attack methods, and adapt security measures accordingly.

Training and mentorship of junior security team members and promote a culture of security awareness.

Lead the day-to-day operations of the cybersecurity team, ensuring effective monitoring, analysis, and response to security events.

Assess, improve, and optimize the effectiveness of security controls, processes, and technologies to maximize protection and minimize operational disruptions.

Lead or participate in cybersecurity projects, such as system upgrades, implementations, or incident response exercises collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, legal, compliance, and business units.

Prepare and submit reports on cybersecurity posture, incidents, and compliance.

Must haveTS/SCI Clearance

CertifiedAuthorization Professional (CAP) certification (now the Governance, Risk and Compliance (CGRC) certification)

IAT Level III Certification required (CompTIA CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GIAC, equivalent or higher).

BA/BS degree inInformation Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science,

Ten (10+) years of directly related experience.

Ability to demonstrate a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts within the Cyber Research field and provide consultation to technical solutions over a wide range of complex difficult problems in which proposed solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.

Familiar with DISS to validate security clearances.

GCIA: GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst

GICSP: Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional

CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional

CISSP-ISSMP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional - Information Systems Security Management Professional

Preferred:

Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN)

Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Familiar with secure and reliable connectivity of Enterprise and Cloud Systems.

Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.

Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
