The Data Protection and Automation Engineering team handles the Firm's data loss/leakage prevention engineering, automation development and behavior analytics. We are looking for an experienced Director to manage and lead a team of security engineers whose mission is to protect Schwab's most valuable assets: its client information and their trust. You are a conscientious and credible leader who is relied upon by business and technology partners to drive effective decision making. You will lead and transform automation and orchestration capabilities, provide leadership, strategy and roadmap development, talent and employee engagement. Delivering automated and cloud solutions that advance Schwab's security posture and incident response capabilities at scale is paramount. Our ideal candidate is an engaged, confident, self-starter who can apply their solid aptitude for critical thinking to solve difficult problems, execute, and deliver through iterative control tuning and release cycles. What you are good at- Develop and improve team skills to tune security configurations, rules and models to reduce false positive events and identify unknown risks and impactful risk events.
- Maturing and providing technical leadership for a 'first line of defense' security incident monitoring & response function involving highly tactical, technical, and defensive incident response processes.
- Maintain laser focus on maturing and building comprehensive, highly technical, automated/orchestrated and manual defensive practices using a variety of commercial, open source, and highly customized homegrown tooling.
- Expertise in source control, unit testing, and agile methodologies is paramount.
- Experience with Orchestration and Automation products.
- Demonstrated thought leadership with Python, C#, .Net MVC, RESTFul Methodologies, Git, and Continuous Integration/Deployment tooling.
- Establish and maintain standards, processes and procedures to lead data security capabilities.
- Coach, mentor and develop individual and team performance and engagement, managing performance and conduct issues.
- At minimum, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science or related fields is preferred. Additional security training with certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA is desirable.
- At minimum, 10+ years of enterprise-level information security management experience.
- Experience managing a function that is subject to high levels of audit and regulatory oversight.
- Familiarity with operating systems (including Microsoft Window and Linux), and relational database management systems (including Oracle and MS SQL Server), is required.
- A demonstrated ability to set and track execution of clear goals and direction for your team.
