About the Role:

The Director of Reliability Engineering will be responsible for implementing industry best practices of SRE for Corporate Systems Technology along with proactive production performance evaluation and capacity planning. The incumbent will be charged with ensuring Corporate Applications achieve high availability by implementing SLA, SLO, and SLI resulting in 99.9% availability. The Director of Reliability Engineering must focus on operational stability, performance, security, efficiency, audit/control management, and scalability of Corporate Systems. This role closely partners with application delivery teams and proactively supports application delivery priorities and SRE requirements.

The Director of Reliability Engineering will champion automation across the board and deliver minimal to no downtime during production deployments while ensuring that DevSecOps governance was achieved during the SDLC.

This role also collaborates closely with the Cloud Ops in CTO Organization and extend Product Support and Automation support for public cloud workloads.

We are on a journey to a 100% Agile, Cloud/API & DevSecOps driven technology organization. This position will play a key role in accelerating our journey within Corporate Systems Technology. This technology organization supports Finance, Accounting, Risk, and Compliance business units. This role will report to Head of Product Support and Release Engineering, Corporate Systems Technology.

Once Here You Will:
  • Implement near-term and long-term strategic initiatives for product support with observability, deep systems engineering hygiene at the center
  • Understand stakeholder product support needs across multiple lines of business and manage/lead availability, resiliency, security needs of the products
  • Envision a strategy to maximize stakeholders' current and future ability to rapidly enhance existing products and adhere to modern standards of managing workloads in Production
  • Deploy metrics/KPI driven operational improvement programs focused on improving availability & security
  • Develop industry leading operational practices for supporting API/cloud native applications on-premise and in public cloud
  • Foster the culture of conducting blameless root-cause reviews and encourage learnings from each incident to solidify event management
  • Influence application development teams to shift left on security and quality practices by championing DevSecOps culture
  • Collaborate with teams distributed across functional areas and geographic locations to ensure robust support
  • Foster robust engineering practices and lead high-functioning SRE teams
  • Envision and deliver operational processes and technologies necessary to improve reliability
  • Implement best practice continuous improvement processes that prioritize incident analysis and remediation, with a constant emphasis on automation and prevention
  • Continuously upskill your own technical knowledge - evaluate new technologies and open-source solutions
  • Attract and mentor a highly performant team in an exciting, inclusive, and collaborative environment
  • Implement best practices like zero-downtime, blue/green deployments with constant emphasis on automation
  • Provide DevSecOps governance by ensuring that our development partners are implementing industry standard best practices throughout the SDLC
  • Provide governance over CI/CD pipelines ensuring Dynamic and Static code testing methodologies are being implemented
  • Help Development pods adopt DevSecOps mentality to ensure all future projects are developed with industry standards in mind
  • Research new technologies that will improve the overall production of the team from automation to monitoring

What You'll Bring:
  • Passion for achieving excellence in release engineering, automation, and resiliency of products through proper capacity planning, solving complex problems, and taking ownership
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and multiple team-leads
  • Industry experience in Financial Services or other regulated industries
  • Experience in building end-to-end Observability platforms with both proactive, reactive monitoring using industry's popular toolsets with a goal of faster MTTR
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • 10+ years of experience with software development
  • 5+ years of experience in direct people management
  • Experience managing Finance, Accounting, Risk & Compliance applications/systems
  • Experience managing digital, data platforms on-prem, in the cloud (AWS), SaaS applications
  • Experience with design, development, and deployment in the DevSecOps environment
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration automation tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Experience developing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment/Delivery using Tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins, Gitlab
  • Experience developing and supporting public cloud-based platforms (AWS(Preferred), Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
  • Experience in multiple programming languages (C, C, Python, JavaScript, C#, Java)
  • Technical hands-on skills, ideally in multiple technology stacks for backend concurrent engineering, system software development and deployment on diverse platforms
  • Able to actively influence customers and business partners to solve problems and ensures products and services are utilized effectively and efficiently
  • Able to provide strategic solutions tailored to meet business objectives
  • Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment with an on shore - offshore distributed Agile teams
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills

\nBase Pay:$160,956.00 - $202,531.00

Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
