We are looking for creative thinkers who want to challenge the status quo and create a truly seamless digital banking experience on a global scale.About the Role: The Director of Release & Performance Engineering will be responsible for implementing practice of Release Automation for Corporate Systems & Data Technologies along with proactive production performance evaluation and capacity planning. The incumbent will be charged with the automation of how a unit of work moves from code repository to production and extend automation support for all of bank's products.The Director of Release and Performance Engineering must work with Production Engineering Team to create a backlog for automation, system performance improvements, and create robust release management for corporate and data platforms. This role closely partners with application delivery teams and proactively supports application delivery priorities and release requirements. This role also collaborates closely with the Cloud SRE function and extend automation support for public cloud workloads.We are on a journey to a 100%Agile, Cloud/API & DevSecOps driven technology organization. This position will play a key role in accelerating our journey within Corporate Systems & data. This technology organization supports Finance, Accounting, Risk, Compliance & Enterprise Data business units. This role will report to Head of Product Support and Release Engineering, Corporate Systems & Data.Once Here You Will:- Implement near-term and long-term strategic initiatives for application release and performance engineering needs- Understand stakeholder support needs across multiple lines of business and manage/lead automation, performance tuning needs of the products.- Envision a strategy to maximize stakeholder's current and future ability to rapidly deploy existing products and adhere to modern standards- Introduce metrics/KPI driven code development and delivery improvement programs focused on automation and production stability- Influence application development teams to shift left on security scans and quality practices by championing DevSecOps principles- Characterize end to end system performance from application to infrastructure to hardware and provide recommendations for improvements- Collaborate with teams distributed across functional areas and geographic locations to ensure robust support- Envision and deliver operational processes and technologies necessary to improve auditability, traceability of code movement across environments- Implement best practices like zero-downtime, blue/green deployments with constant emphasis on automation- Foster robust engineering practices and lead high-functioning Release Engineering teams- Get feedback from Production Engineering on application performance, optimize performance bottlenecks and usage to create application capacity planning recommendations- Collaborate with Enterprise DevSecOps Leadership for strategy, design, implementation and support of new tools and technologies in Release Engineering - Continuously upskill your own technical knowledge - evaluate new technologies and open-source solutions- Attract and mentor a highly performant team in an exciting, inclusive and collaborative environmentWhat You'll Bring:- Passion for achieving excellence in release engineering, automation and resiliency of products through proper capacity planning, solving complex problems, and taking ownership- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and multiple team-leads- Industry experience in Financial Services or other regulated industries- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems- 10+ years of experience with software development- 5+ years of experience in direct people management- Experience managing Finance, Accounting, Risk & Compliance applications/systems- Experience managing digital, data platforms on-prem, in the cloud (AWS), SaaS applications- Experience with design, development and deployment in the DevSecOps environment- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration automation tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation- Experience developing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment/Delivery using Tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins, Gitlab- Experience developing and supporting public cloud-based platforms (AWS(Preferred), Azure, Google Cloud Platform)- Experience in multiple programming languages (C, C, Python, JavaScript, C#, Java)- Technical hands-on skills, ideally in multiple technology stacks for backend concurrent engineering, system software development and deployment on diverse platforms- Able to actively influence customers and business partners to solve problems and ensures products and services are utilized effectively and efficiently- Able to provide strategic solutions tailored to meet business objectives- Must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment with an on shore - offshore distributed Agile teams- Outstanding written and verbal skillsFor more than 35 years, SVB Financial Group (NASDAQ: SIVB) and its subsidiaries have helped innovative companies and their investors move bold ideas forward, fast.
