Job Description
Facilities Management seeks a Filter Servicer-Lead. This position will lead and oversee the inspection, maintenance, and replacement of air filters on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment across the Tempe campus.

Salary Range
$21.00- $22.00 per hour (DOE). ASU offers a comprehensive benefits package with the State of Arizona.

Essential Duties
Lead a team in inspecting air filters on HVAC equipment to maintain filtration needs.
Clean or replace air filters; cleans air plenums as needed.
Coordinate and schedule equipment shutdowns and submits shutdown notifications.
Train and support Air Filter Servicers and Trades Helpers.
Schedule and manage routine maintenance on air filters, ensuring timely completion.
Provide contractor support and coordination for filter-related projects.
Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities on air filters.
Update maintenance records and manage work order requests utilizing electronic tablets.
Monitor and update filter inventory, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained.
Order and replenish filter supplies as required.
Read gauges and instruments, making necessary adjustments to mechanisms.
Recommend air filter scheduling changes and filter rating changes for improved e9iciency and resource utilization.
Knowledgeable of Lockout/Tagout procedures.
Ensures adherence to all safety regulations and university standards.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with team members and university stakeholders.
DAYS AND SCHEDULE: Tuesday - Friday 6:30AM - 5:00PM
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of general maintenance or related experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved. Must pass a pre-employment physical examination, including asbestos worker clearance, respiratory clearance questionnaire, and respiratory fit test. Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in:
Maintenance of air filters
Training and mentoring staff
Accurately maintaining and updating maintenance records
Rotating machine (air movers, motors, exhaust fans and compressed air systems)
Performing preventative maintenance routines
Customer service
Work order systems, using i-pad or tablet, email and Microsoft office
Demonstrated knowledge of:
Types and use of air filters
Asbestos and abatement procedures
Evidence of effective communication skills
Working Environment
Utilize hand and/or power tools (e.g. drills, generators, saws, lifts, vacuum equipment).
Climb stairs, ladders, ladder wells, and stairs.
Work off ladders to include working off lift platforms and boom trucks at heights above six feet.
Activities performed in a variety of interior and exterior settings involving restricted movement, low lighting, dirty environmental conditions, air contamination, extreme temperatures, and intense noise.
May be exposed to hazardous and dangerous materials, tools, and equipment which will require safety precautions and/or specific process to be followed, and may include the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) (e.g. safety glasses, hearing protection, negative pressure and positive pressure respirator).
Use of PPE may require medical clearance prior to use.
Regular use of air compressor, shop or central vacuum, or water source.
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting over 50 pounds and pulling up to 100 pounds.
Drive University vehicles and/or carts.

This position is located at the University Services Building, 1551 S. Rural Road, Tempe, AZ (on Rural Road south of Apache Blvd).
Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license (minimum of Class D) upon employment and maintain throughout employment. Post-offer of employment, selected candidate must possess an acceptable driving record which is 5 or fewer points in the most recent 39 month period from date of hire.
Must pass pre-employment physical examination post offer of employment to include asbestos worker clearance, respiratory clearance questionnaire and respiratory fit test.
May participate in programs which involve adherence to program regulations, including physical exam, annual testing, x-rays, medication, vaccinations at ASU expense, and completion of a Health Surveillance Questionnaire.
