Basic Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. Rescue 21 is the Coast Guard's advanced command, control and direction-finding communications system created to better locate mariners in distress and save lives and property at sea and on navigable rivers. By harnessing state-of-the-market technology, the General Dynamics-built Rescue 21 system enables the Coast Guard to execute its search and rescue missions with far greater agility and efficiency. As an IT Systems Engineer on the Rescue 21 program, you'll participate in the following:- Support System Administration tasks which include Active Directory and Group Policy Object management/changes
- Assist with IT work in support of the IT Technical Lead and IT engineering efforts
- Support troubleshooting the lab and production environments for hardware and software issues
- Support and maintain Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) activities
- Analyze, install, acquire, modify and support operating systems, database or utilities software
- Analyze, design, acquire and implement projects for LAN and/or WAN systems
- Configure, install, and troubleshoot Cisco routers, switches, IP systems, and various other network and telecommunication components
- Support the creation, deployment and testing of R21 images
- Create, review and utilize Technical Documentation
- Interface with the Customer Service Organization (CSO)

- A Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree; Agile experience preferred
- Solid knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles and theories
- Solid knowledge of requirements management and system modeling tools
- Familiarity with technical standards
- Creative thinking with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to quickly grasp and apply new information
- Effectively handle complex assignments
- Ability to clearly recognize and report relevant to sound systems engineering design
