DESCRIPTION:For one of clients, we have an immediate need for a Junior Level Software to be based in Gilbert, AZ.

This is a HYBRID position (3 days remote, 2 days onsite).The company produces spaceflight hardware and software solutions, integrating vehicle design, component design and engineering services for aerospace, scientific, commercial and military customers.With global product demand and mission criteria moving toward integrated commercial partnerships, lower costs and higher performance hardware and software requirements, the company is positioned for growth in the new era. Our team of seasoned architects and engineers is dedicated to partnership with our customers for continued growth and success.

ROLE:
  • Create and update space and ground software subsystems.
  • Understand and use bootloaders and drivers with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Communicating issues or deficiencies found with these components.
  • Follow build procedures to create projects with Wind River Workbench.
  • Debug embedded software (with minimal or no user interface).
  • Work with internal team members to solve software and system issues.
  • Perform revision control.
  • Create Version Description Documents and software releases according to established procedures.
  • Follow and create or update software design documents.

MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Aeronautics and Astronautics degree is directly applicable.
  • BS Degree in other Engineering fields is acceptable if you otherwise have a strong programming introduction or background.
  • Exposure to embedded software engineering.
  • Knowledgeable in C and C programming languages.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 2+ years of hands-on embedded software development experience
  • Experience with PowerPC assembly language, LabVIEW, Perl, and Python.
  • Working knowledge of Linux, Windows, VxWorks and/or other Real time operating systems.
  • Knowledgeable in RS232, RS422, TCP/IP, PCI, DMA, MMU, Flash, EEPROM, FPGA memory mapped register access, and exception vectors.
  • Some exposure to JTAG programmers and debuggers.
  • Familiarity with schematic and basic lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, meters, power supplies, etc.
  • Familiar with orbit mechanics and satellite avionics, sensors and actuators.
  • Familiar with Guidance, Navigation and Controls of satellites and/or rockets.
