This position will be responsible for sustaining and improving laser-based processes in manufacturing. The role will be leading problem-solving issues on the production floor and be responsible for continuous improvement projects. This is a manufacturing floor support role, working to troubleshoot issues with laser bonders and other ancillary equipment on the work cell, to provide maximum equipment utilization.A Day in the Life:Troubleshoot issues on the manufacturing floor as they pertain to laser equipment/workcell, process, tooling or software.Complete continuous improvement projects that result in improved equipment safety, utilization and process yield.Work closely with manufacturing operators, supervisors, technicians, and other process engineers to address reoccurring issues.Disposition non-conforming product with ownership of driving non-conformance reports to closure and prevent reoccurrence.Drive projects to successful completion using Project Management skills. Utilize technical skills associated with Six Sigma, Lean, DRM/DFSS and other appropriate improvement techniques to drive continuous improvement.Follow established procedures to perform detailed, accurate, and compliant engineering documentation for Master Validation Plans, pFMEA, Equipment Installation, Characterization, Qualification and Validation activities.Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies, or governmental regulations.All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System.Identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful execution of manufacturing operations and completion of continuous improvement projects.Must Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelors degree required

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have:B.S or M.S. Degree in Physics, Materials Science, or similar technical discipline.Experience with semiconductor processes or industrial lasersDesign for Six Sigma (DFSS) Green Belt/Black Belt, or equivalent knowledge, investment, and experience in design for reliability and manufacturing.Direct experience developing, deploying, and sustaining laser process technologies, with relevant experience with process characterization, design of experiments, statistical process control, and data analysis methodologiesAbout MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
