Position: Lead Cabinet Shop Technician / Millworker (Full-Time)

As a small, high-mix shop completing approximately 15-20 custom projects per year, our Lead Technician is entrusted with full operational ownership of the shop floor and production process.

Position: Lead Cabinet Shop Technician / Millworker (Full-Time)

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and self-directed Lead Shop Technician to join our team. This critical role requires an individual who can confidently manage and execute the shop's production workflow from initial design review through final assembly. The ideal candidate will be a master craftsman celebrated for their efficiency and exceptional attention to detail.

Core Responsibilities:

Production Planning & Optimization:

 Accurately read, interpret, and translate shop drawings into precise, actionable cut lists.

 Develop efficient batch milling strategies (including milling entire kitchen packages), consolidate like cuts, and expertly optimize full sheets of material to minimize waste and maximize production effectiveness.

Milling & Fabrication:

 Expertly operate all standard shop machinery (e.g., table saws, dados, chop saws, line boring, routers, sanders etc.) to mill raw materials to exacting specifications.

 Execute all milling tasks with extreme precision and robust quality control.

Cabinet Assembly:

 Flawlessly assemble traditional face frame cabinet boxes and components from milled materials, ensuring squareness, dimensional accuracy, and quality construction.

Shop Management/oversight:

 Effectively manage the daily workflow of the shop floor and coordinate the activities of one or two assistant personnel with minimal supervision from ownership.

 Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

 Maintain an outstanding attendance record, consistently arriving on time and reliably completing assigned tasks within expected timelines.

Schedule, Compensation & Benefits:

 We offer a highly competitive wage, well above industry standard, commensurate with your skills and experience.

 Work Schedule: We typically operate on a 4-day, 10-hour per day (4/10) schedule. Alternative scheduling options are negotiable.

 Competitive Salary/Hourly Rate (Based on experience).

 Paid Time Off (PTO): A block of 60 hours of PTO is allocated at the start of each calendar year, prorated based on your hire date. This time can be used flexibly for holidays, sick days, or personal time.

 Retirement: Eligibility to participate in the 401(k) Plan with a company match of up to 4% begins after one year of continuous employment.

 Vacation: Paid vacation time begins after one year of continuous employment.
