Taper Barber Lounge is Tucson's newest high end barbershop, owned and operated by Abbie, a Master Barber with over 15 years experience. At Taper, we believe that grooming is an experience, not just a service. We specialize in individualized haircuts, classic hot towel straight razor shaves, beard sculpting/trims, shampoo scrubs and quality grooming products, all within an upscale, vintage inspired atmosphere. Our barbershop is polished, welcoming and geared towards men and boys of all ages who appreciate comfort, style, and exceptional customer service.

What We're Looking For:

Experienced Barber or Stylist that specializes in men's grooming.

Strong verbal communication and excellent customer service.

Ability to consult with clients to understand their preferences and recommend suitable styles.

Someone who understands the value of professionalism and appearance, and they reflect this in their grooming, attitude and interaction with clients.

Ability to maintain cleanliness of their workstation and common areas and ensure all tools are sanitized according to health and state board regulations.

Someone who is comfortable applying and upselling products and services to enhance client experience and satisfaction.

A team player who can assist with front desk duties - including but not limited to: greeting customers, answering the phone, scheduling appointments, taking payments, cleaning, sweeping and washing/folding towels.

Willingness to help, guide and mentor junior barbers or apprentices by sharing knowledge and techniques.

Punctual and reliable - although scheduling is flexible, barbers must be here when they say they will and never leave appointments hanging.

Flexible schedule and your own profile within our shop's scheduling/payment processing software.

Four (4) weeks FREE station rent for professionals with an already established clientele.

Commission structure working toward weekly station rental for individuals that are just starting their careers or relocating from out of town.

Two (2) weeks FREE rent for vacation, increasing by one (1) week for each year spent at Taper.

Periodic group outings to hair shows/barber competitions as continuing education.

Qualifications

Valid cosmetology or barbering license as required by state regulations.

Proficiency in hair styling techniques, including fades, tapers, shear work, straight razor shaving/detailing, shampooing and express facials.

Desire to always be improving and leveling up their skill set.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients.

Knowledge of sanitation practices and health regulations in the beauty industry.

Experience in store management or retail sales is desirable.

Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
