Description We are seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant to join our Phoenix, Arizona team. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity in the healthcare industry. As a Medical Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks including patient registration, insurance verification, and maintaining patient records. You will also serve as a liaison for referring physicians and groups, ensuring efficient and professional interactions at all times.Responsibilities: Greet and check patients in and out, providing exceptional customer service Handle multi-line phone coverage professionally and promptly Register patients accurately, ensuring all necessary information is collected Verify patient insurance and initiate prior authorizations Coordinate with referral sources to obtain physician schedules Maintain patient charts using Athena software, including scanning and uploading documents to electronic chart Assist in the ordering of devices through NetSuite software Support the clinic staff and overall office flow, ensuring smooth operations Conduct chart checks for fitting appointments using the standard checklist form Collaborate closely with the billing team to ensure all documentation for claims are uploaded Maintain general office organization and follow standard processes Schedule appointments for new and follow-up appointments, coordinating with physicians as needed Review patient no shows daily, calling, documenting, and rescheduling appointments as necessary Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations Demonstrate adaptability in a dynamic environment and ability to multitask Exhibit exceptional computer skills in executing job duties. Requirements Proficiency in Basic Medical Terminology is essential Prior experience in Medical Front Office operations is required Expertise in Medical Insurance Verification is necessary Skills in Patient Registration are crucial Strong communication and organizational skills are a must Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively Knowledge of standard office equipment and software Familiarity with healthcare privacy and safety guidelines Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially High school diploma or equivalent is required Additional certification in Medical Administration is a plus.
