The team offers excellent opportunities for growth and mentorship as part of a dynamic and collaborative organization.The WorkWe’re currently hiring for a Communications Coordinator, Multicultural (Hispanic/Latino Audiences) who will support communications efforts focused on engaging Hispanic/Latino communities in the United States. The ideal candidate will be a native Spanish speaker with a strong interest in using language skills to engage Hispanic/Latino communities on behalf of the federal government and private sector. Our work includes several public sectors, including health, transportation, environment, energy, disaster management, and education. We are looking for a professional to support new and existing tasks for public sector clients with an authentic lens toward Hispanics/Latinos. Work may include translation, transcreation and adaptation of communication materials. Other tasks may include developing content in English for Hispanic/Latino audiences, supporting creative campaign development and execution, earned and social media, and partnership engagement. This position requires a willingness to pursue certification by the American Translators Association (ATA) or equivalent. Internship experience working in communications and/or a public relations/advertising agency is a plus.Key Responsibilities
Support English-Spanish translation and adaptation services to better support education activities for Hispanic/Latino communities.
Support campaigns and projects that are designed to reach and engage Hispanic/Latino communities, assisting with the development, execution and evaluation of audience-focused outreach efforts through partnerships, earned media, social media, materials development and community engagement.
Collaborate with project teams with oversight from clients and senior team members, and complete key deliverables on time and with high quality.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with organizations and potential partners who engage Hispanic/Latino communities.
Identify innovative technologies to support multicultural communications and English-Spanish translation and adaptation services.
Basic Qualifications
Associate's degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing, advertising or related field or equivalent field
1 year of communications experience
1 year of experience engaging Hispanic/Latino audiences in the United States
Native Spanish speaking capabilities with exceptional Spanish writing skills, a must
Must be able to secure a public trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
PR/communications internship experience
Willingness to pursue certification by American Translators Association (ATA) or equivalent
Professional Skills
Interest in writing content for a variety of channels including email distributions, websites, and other collateral materials in English and Spanish
Interest in working with media targeting Hispanics/Latinos
Interest in collaborating with community-based and national organizations targeting Hispanics/Latinos
Excellent verbal, written, organizational skills, and ability to interface effectively with all levels of the company and client
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and team members
Strong team orientation with a focus on collaboration.
Strong organizational and writing skills, time management skills, and superior attention to detail.
Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions to clients’ communications challenges/problems.
Excellent interpersonal (verbal, written), and organizational skills, with ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities at a given time while interacting with multi-disciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
Proficient in Windows PC environment, including Microsoft Office applications.
