Patio and Pergola Installers- Full Time

Desert Outdoor Builders, a commercial and residential general contractor specializing in outdoor structural shade canopies and pergolas, is looking for lead technicians, technicians and laborers for full time employment (Avg. 40 hrs/wk) to install various outdoor shade systems. Desert Outdoor Builders installs various structures to include pergolas, patio covers, roller shades, etc. The brands and types of structures built are 4K Aluminum, Duralum, wood, and steel.

We are seeking individuals with mechanical and cognitive construction skills with an eye on detail.

Main responsibility: Install various shade products from inception to completion.

Prior experience is not necessary, but pay is commensurate with experience.

We offer competitive rates of pay. Starting at $18/hr (laborer with no experience) to $35/hr for Lead Technician.

Laborers/helpers are provided tools and on the job training.

Technicians must have some of the basic tools for installation of aluminum shade structures. (If you have to ask, you are not a technician, you are a laborer/helper).

Lead Technicians must have tools and know-how of installation of aluminum shade structures. No instructions would be needed on how-to. Lead Technicians are expected to quickly grasp standard installation practices of Desert Outdoor Builders.

Hours are Monday-Friday (with occasional Saturdays), 6:00 am 2:30 pm. Overtime during busy season. $17.00 - $21.00+ per hour depending on experience.

Ability to lift 80 pounds. Good physical condition; ability to perform tasks that require significant lifting, standing, bending reaching, stooping, up and down ladders, pushing and/or pulling, and working in an outdoor environment under some temperature extremes.

A self-starter with problem solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Ability to meet deadlines.
