- Lead the Engineering requirements practice. Define standards for gathering and documenting requirements. Approve changes to the standards. Ensure consistentdelivery of requirements across all deployed systems
- Generate and revise server, operating system, database, applications and network standards. Ensure delivered platforms meet functional and technical requirements.
- Lead the development of highly available and scalable platforms. Ensure all phases are being automated. Advocate for new platforms when necessary.
- Advocate for new build and deployment platforms. Align new applications with the CI/CD practice. Collaborate with creating complex designs.
- Lead the development of CI/CD pipelines. Ensure standards are being followed. Approve changes being made to the standards.
- Define the infrastructure development lifecycle. Implement improvements to the practice. Coach other system engineers through the development life cycle.
- Consult with multiple stakeholders to expand the adoption of the CI/CD pipeline methodology. Collaboratively define and improve the Engineering CI/CD practice.
- Lead the design and development of monitoring, discovery, reporting, alerting and analytic systems and tools. Collaborate with SRE and monitoring teams.
- Design, develop and support improvements to the value stream as a result of the feedback gathered from monitoring.
- Collaborate with product teams, operations management and stakeholders to optimize system feedback. Monitor and provide guidance to other system engineers.
- Coach other system engineers with identifying opportunities that improve Discount Tire's system capabilities; including industry trends, research organizations, usergroups and technical conferences.
- Define and teach the engineering innovation practice. Advocate for change and deliver innovation to the IT Engineering organization. Ensure concepts are implementedquickly and assess the results.
- Complete work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer service.
- Mentor and coach Systems Engineers

- This position requires a minimum of eight years Systems Engineer experience with hands on experience in infrastructure design, automation and administration.
- Broad technical and practical skills with common infrastructure systems including but not limited to: Amazon Web Services, Linux, Microsoft Windows Server,
- Virtualization/VMware, Server Clustering, MS Active Directory, Enterprise backup, Storage, MS SQL Server, server hardware, Network Protocols, DNS/DHCP, generalnetworking concepts
- Proven, specialized expertise in multiple technologies including but not limited to: networking (security, routing and switching, voice, etc.), common web stacks, datacenter infrastructure, monitoring, CI/CD pipeline development, and infrastructure automation
- Expertise in building CI/CD pipelines with automated build tools including Atlassian, Jenkins, Chef, Microsoft SCCM/DSC, AWS CloudFormation
- Proven ability to build professional relationships with cross functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability of excellent communication across all levels of the organization, interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to write in a clear andconcise manner.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft office, including skills with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio is necessary.
- Ability to identify complex problems, review information to develop and evaluate options, then implement solutions is essential.
- Ability to influence and provide consistent results across all levels of the organization is imperative.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with a positive demeanor, generating innovative solutions to complex challenges.

- This position requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience.
