Job Description

Operations Management:

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive work environment
  • Work across the production facility to ensure the flow of work meets customer deadlines
  • WIP Management
  • Enforce adherence to standards (QCPs, policies and procedures, etc.) through coaching and routine follow up
  • Allocating work and overseeing its execution to production schedule, and improving time standards
  • Make certain that cleanliness is maintained within all areas, utilizing 5S principles
  • Maintaining stocks of materials and consumables
  • Coordinate with maintenance to ensure all production equipment are maintained and serviced appropriately
  • Ensure production operation complies with current compliance regulations
  • Working with the Quality department to guarantee training and skills matrices are regularly updated
  • Create weekly/monthly reports, detailing performance against defined key metrics (KPI’s) e.g. OTD, PD
  • Proactively support management in the implementation of Company policies and procedures
  • Score favorably in compliance audits of MOS Overall Utilization Assessment
  • Ensure compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO Quality requirements
  • Follow MOS Principals supplied by management
  • Completion of any work-related tasks, which would be deemed reasonable of this role

Personnel Management:

  • Providing supportive management to coach, develop and motivate
  • Deploy staff effectively, ensuring they are performing to agreed standards
  • Timecard management. Manage staff leave and working arrangements within the Production team; making sure all operational areas of production are adequately resourced and maintained in a professional and tidy manner
  • Allocating tasks (and rescheduling) whenever needed to achieve deadlines
  • Responsible for the coordination of staff training within the Production team
  • Complete probation reviews and arrange regular performance reviews within the team, implementing improvement plans if required
  • Conducting disciplinary actions, if required

Qualifications

  • Experience with FAA Part 145 Repair Station (MRO) manufacturing functions and process flows
  • Experience, direct or indirect, with aircraft component processes (machining, welding, inspection, thermal spray, chemical strip, brazing, plating)
  • MRB/FAA disposition authority
  • Continuous improvement methodologies and execution, to reduce cost through process improvement
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing (5S, Kaizen, problem solving and other quality tools)
  • Possess or obtain a Repairman Certificate and/or an A&P license within 18 months
  • Execution, management, and delivery of KPI’s
  • Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint proficiency, intermediate/advanced required
  • Ability to navigate through multiple (ERP) platforms to obtain data
  • Support & collaborate with functional teams - HR, Safety, Engineering, Quality, Planning & Customer Service
  • Strategic problem solving and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership, integrity, and accountability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • US Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, or Refugee (ITAR Requirement)
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, comprehension) (FAA Requirement)

  • A&P License (Current)
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt/Blackbelt

List the level of education and/or experience needed to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job:

  • Associate Degree/ Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Four (4) years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
