It will complement the well-established kidney, pancreas, liver, and heart transplant programs. The Transplant Center is known for its innovative approach to patient care, pioneering transplant research, and post-graduate education opportunities. A team of specialists in medical and surgical disciplines, including nursing, psychology, social work, respiratory/physical/occupational therapy, pharmacy, and nutrition, supports the transplant programs. #AZlungtransplantThe Pulmonary Respiratory Therapist provides assessment, treatment, and monitoring of patients with cardiopulmonary compromise and provides support for the equipment necessary for the care of these patients. The Pulmonary Respiratory Therapist conducts a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and is a technical and educational resource for patients, family members, and other members of the patient care team. The Pulmonary Respiratory Therapist must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The Pulmonary Respiratory Care Therapist demonstrates and maintains basic core competencies in the clinical setting. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required.QualificationsGraduation from an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Therapy. Minimum one year of post-graduate hospital respiratory care experience and one year full-time critical care and arterial blood gas experience required.AAS degree preferred. Must have effective interpersonal skills, patient assessment skills, and basic computer skills. Desire and ability to obtain additional competencies including cross training to MCH. One year of pulmonary diagnostics (pulmonary function testing) experience preferred for Respiratory Therapists.Current Arizona licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Registered Respiratory Therapist credential (RRT)from National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or a recognized international credentialing body required. Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) credential is required within 3 years of hire. Basic life support (BLS) certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date. Maintains BLS competency. Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
