Our distinguished research institutes and memory and movement care Centers of Excellence provide expert medical care services and clinical research in disease treatment and prevention.In this role as Research Medical and Academic Training Program Manager you will support new and ongoing continuing medical education programs for Banner Research physicians and clinicians, academic placement programs at Banner Research facilities, and lead event planning activities for research-related conferences and symposiums. This position is primarily remote, with occasional in-person attendance of meetings or events at Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center (Gilbert location), Banner Alzheimer’s Institute (Central Phoenix location) or Banner Sun Health Research Institute. Applicants for this position may expect to work typical workday hours, Monday – Friday. Duties for this position include managing event planning and special event budgets, coordinating with administrative staff, and the development and production of promotional materials. We intend to make a transformational difference in Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders research and care.POSITION SUMMARYThis position leads and coordinates Banner Research medical, research and academic education and training functions. This requires ongoing assessment of educational needs and effectiveness, planning and implementation of programs and collaboration with a variety of physicians, specialties, committees, external vendors, agencies, academic institutions and departments. This position plans, coordinates and implements identified special events and programs that support the mission of Banner Research and coordinates institute-based education and training efforts. Assists with scheduling and programming for in-person and telemedicine and teleconferencing events that provide education for Banner physicians, clinicians and other research and clinical staff.CORE FUNCTIONS

Serves as lead individual contributor for continuing medical education for Banner Research physicians and clinicians and coordinates efforts of institute- and site-based activities to eliminate duplication of efforts. Coordinates all phases of identified Continuing Medical Education (CME) events including planning, consulting, budgeting, overseeing events and post-event reporting, as required. In partnership with the leadership team, reviews the CME program, speakers and organizations requesting continuing medical education credits with the organization. Oversees development and production of all promotional materials for various continuing medical education programs.

Arranges space and facilities required for identified CME events, working with businesses and vendors as needed. Formulates and executes plans for effective utilization of available funds, equipment and supplies. Coordinates with leadership to plan and implement special events that support the mission of Banner Research.

Leads or co-leads development of programming and scheduling for in-person, telemedicine and teleconferencing events that provide education and/or training for Banner Research staff.

Coordinates with leaders, physicians and administrative staff to streamline interactions with academic institutions, assist with scheduling and credentialing and identify opportunities to eliminate duplication of efforts.

Communicates with physicians and administrative staff involved with implementing and managing medical student, resident, intern, fellowship and other academic programs to identify and address administrative support needs.

Ensures that continuing medical education activities are in compliance with the standards established by the organization’s ethics and compliance program as well as with Stark regulations.

Administers special events budget and effectively utilizes available funds, personnel, equipment, materials and supplies related to special events. Manages and implements marketing strategies for each event to reach attendance and financial goals.

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Banner Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust possess knowledge of medical or pharmacy education coordination as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in business, human relations or related field.Must possess an understanding of medical education, research and management as normally demonstrated with three to five years of experience in medical education management. Requires strong research and organizational abilities. Requires excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to guide and lead others. Requires demonstrated negotiation and persuasion skills. Must have working knowledge of continuing medical education policies and procedures.This position requires a high degree of interpersonal skills, leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills to accomplish successful special events.
