NTI was the first lung transplant program in the Valley when it launched in 2006. The program made a leap to No. 1 in the nation in 2017 for the number of lung transplants performed and recently celebrated its 1,000 lung transplant in November 2020. NTI has earned a reputation for excellence and innovation in caring for patients with complex and difficult thoracic problems. The program conducts groundreaking research to better understand the nature of disease, response to treatment, and outcomes for patients.We are searching for a suitable candidate to fill a 2 year clinical research fellowship position, with a primary focus on clinical outcomes of LT recipients. As part of the fellowship, research fellows will be mentored by transplant pulmonologists and will have access to clinical research staff, a statistician, a medical illustrator, and a medical editor. The fellow will be expected to learn the process of research protocol writing, IRB submission, IRB approval, data collection, and medical writing. In addition to submitting their work to medical journals, fellows will present their research findings at international/national academic society meetings including the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplant, American Transplant Congress, and CHEST. Applicants with a medical degree (MD or equivalent) and research experience will be highly preferred, though select candidates with experience in the biomedical field may be considered.Duration of the Research Fellowship:2 years#LI-DHQualificationsMD degree, or its equivalent, including Ph.D, DO or MBBS requiredPrior clinical research experienceWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, Power point, and ExcelWorking knowledge of statistical software (e.g. SPSS)Excellent work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to publishing impactful scientific manuscriptsStrong communication skills and an ability to interact with mentors and team members in a congenial and collegial mannerEnglish language proficiency, both verbal and writtenFamiliar with basic computer, mathematical, scientific, reasoning, and oral and written communication skills as appropriate required.Pay Range$22.95 - $33.28 /hourWe are an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
