Our IT team has 4 different departments: Information Security, IT Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, and IT Commerce & Customer Engagement. About the LocationFully Remote Position: This position is considered to be Fully Remote and work is done from another location outside of Phoenix Home Office (within the United States). Associates that are considered to be Fully Remote do not have a work space at Phoenix Home Office and can expect to be asked to travel to Phoenix Home Office several times a year [or more], based on business needs and in partnership with leadership. Associates that are considered to be Fully Remote will acknowledge the "Remote Work Agreement" upon hire. About the JobSalesforce Apex EngineerHow this role will make an impact:PetSmart is aggressively accelerating its development team and we are looking for strong, experienced team members who can drive us forward. Create APEX solutions on the Salesforce Service Cloud platform to support our Services business and IT needs. Be prepared to work in a high-impact, dynamic environment with changing priorities, development methodologies, and technical solutions.Your goals and responsibilities will include:• Responsible for developing in Visualforce, Apex and other technologies to build customized solutions that support business requirements• Troubleshoot technical issues related to Apex code, Lightning Components and Visualforce pages• Proactively make recommendations for technical enhancements for better performance, scalability, and maintainability• Accountable for delivering in an agile environment• Effective enterprise and design pattern skillsets• Solid Apex coding practices along with collaboration with dev team in conducting peer reviews• Works with cross functional IT and business teams to architect, design and develop solutions based on business requirements• Identify areas of improvement in design, implementation, process, tooling, automated testing, SQA• Mentor other developers and users who are inexperienced with Salesforce• Remain current on latest Salesforce platform technologies seeking to integrate them in solutions where appropriate• Responsible to be a key member of the team to help define, refine, document, build and support feature deliverables for the team on the Services Cloud platformWhat you'll bring to the table:• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience• At least 5 years of software development experience, preferable in Java or C#• 3+ years hands-on experience with Salesforce Apex development• Expertise with Custom Objects, Apex, SOQL, JSON and Javascript• Experience in the Salesforce Service Cloud Platform• Experience with large Salesforce datasets (50GB+)• Intimately familiar with REST and Apex Web Service API• CI/CD/CT concepts• Apex automated unit testing knowledge to ensure code coverage• Thorough understanding of SFDC and Managed package governor limits and best practice guidelines• Ability to address short term tactical requirements without losing site of the longer-range strategic direction• Self-motivated and discipline to meet deadlines with speed, accuracy and professional attitude• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Proven documentation skills• Superior analytical and trouble-shooting skills• Collaborative, positive attitude and a team player• Ability to resolve conflict in a constructive manner and work around obstacles to ensure project successAdditional skillsets preferred:• SAFe experience• Field Service Lightning (FSL) experience on Salesforce Service Cloud• Salesforce DX• Google Cloud Platform Integration experience• TDD and BDD knowledge• Splunk knowledge and understanding analysis for performance metrics• Salesforce Administrator skillsets (Roles/Profiles, Sharing rules, Permission sets, etc) About the CultureAt PetSmart, we work hard to create a culture where and we celebrate the unique stories, backgrounds, and experiences our associates share.
