Envision Your Experience

Imagine Learning is seeking a full-time Social Studies Senior Academic Designer who can work remotely to develop a new core Social Studies program for middle and high school students. Social Studies Senior Academic Designers will work with colleagues to develop detailed curriculum maps and scope and sequences for a variety of history and social studies courses aligned to state standards and the C3 Framework. Senior Academic Designers will oversee the production of content for these courses, collaborating with colleagues to deliver dynamic student and teacher content in both print and digital formats.

This is a regular, full-time position, based out of your home office.

Share Your Expertise

Experience, education, and qualifications essential for success in this role include:

  • The ability to develop prototypes and project proposals and contribute to the overall creative development of Imagine Learning’s Social Studies program.

  • A strong understanding of curriculum design and middle school and high school (6–12) History and Social Studies pedagogical issues.

  • The ability to create engaging, research-based content that aligns with state standards, assessment criteria, and more widely used frameworks.

  • The ability to coordinate with project managers, academic and other design teams, video production specialists, web engineers, outside vendors, and partner organizations about content, project schedules, and future development.

  • At least 3–5 years of experience writing, editing, or building Social Studies curriculum.

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in History, curriculum design or development, or other related liberal arts fields.

  • Excellent writing and editing skills and the ability to produce quality work in a timely manner.
