Senior Java Microservice Engineers

You'd be join a highly collaborative and tight-knit group that works with cutting edge technologies to solve very complex problems with their core platform which is used by millions around the world. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience (more for a lead) building true enterprise scale APIs in a common object-oriented language. Java is primary language used in their stack but have a multi-lingual backend along with Spring, AWS, and Apache data tools. With a mixed ecosystem leveraging modern tools, this team looks for engineers with learning agility, problem-solving skills, and strong fundamentals over perfect alignment with their current set of tools. • 4+ years of experience for senior engineers
• 6+ years of experience for lead
• REST API development - experience building scalable and robust microservices
• Experience on complex, data-intensive, and/or high transaction systems
• Java (8 or higher) or experience with another JVM language
• Kafka or similar
• Redis or other caching layer
• SQL and/or noSQL databases (Cassandra most preferred)
• Some public cloud (AWS preferred)
• Quality-driven mindset - TDD, XP, or ability to develop unit and integration tests
• Experience in automated CI/CD environments

• Experience modernizing highly complex global-scale applications in eCommerce, core banking, airline / hotel reservation systems, etc.
• Highly collaborative and able to work in a paired programming / XP environment
• Experience with multiple backend languages, big bonus for high speed web languages like Golang, Node, Rust, etc.
• Apache data engineering toolsets - Spark, Kafka Streams, etc.
• Event driven architecture and frameworks
• System and app design / architecture
• Big bonus for any Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, etc.
