Shop Helper

We are an AS9100 certified manufacturer of commercial and aerospace products in the west valley, with an immediate need for a shop helper to assist in the machine shop. Hours are 5:00am – 3:30pm, Monday – Thursday, with possible overtime on Friday. We provide a competitive wage, health insurance, vacation, holidays, sick leave, tuition reimbursement, and more.

Job Description:

The shop helper will be responsible for basic duties required to support CNC production processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

Shop Help

Assist with hand finishing metal parts, including cleaning and removing burrs from parts; sand, bead blast and tumble parts to be deburred.

Operate band saw, cold saw, cut-off saw, shear as requested.

Clean machines and work area

Remove and discard metal chips from machines.

Operate punch press

May include assisting in the packaging of products

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Help out around the shop where needed and when requested

Other duties as requested.

Skills/Qualifications:

High School diploma/GED with machinist or related manufacturing experience preferred.

Any technical or vocational education in relation to skills is also preferred

Ability to read and interpret written job instructions

Forklift experience is helpful

Basic knowledge of shop equipment including ability to use judgment and safe practices.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Must be punctual and dependable

Must be a quick learner and self-motivated
