Job Description

Cybersecurity is an integral part of our SVB culture, and as a growing financial institution, it's vital that we all play our part in keeping customers' data secure. We're looking for a cyber professional inherently driven and fascinated by the art and science of cyber defense. We will arm you with the very best tools and tech so that you can deliver top notch results.

Essential Functions

These are the functions focused on a daily basis. Make a list of daily tasks, organize them into groups; identify each group as a key responsibility. List what the responsibility is, not how it is accomplished.

Develop and maintain the application security strategies, roadmaps, policies, processes, technology, and controls.

Mentor and develop application security engineers and security champions.

Work with other Cyber Security teams to enhance security controls and capabilities.

Work with product development teams to secure applications developed for SVB.

Lead a team of Application Security Engineers performing assessments, providing application security training, and developing and maintaining application security technologies.

Manage, build, and maintain positive relationships and processes with product development, engineering, and operations teams.

Solve issues at scale through technology solutions, design enhancements, process optimizations and automation.

Perform threat, vulnerability, and risk analysis, provide guidance, and communicate metrics about any identified issues.

Preferred Education and Experience

Broad understanding of security and technology.

Extensive understanding of Application Security techniques, technologies, and industry best practices.

Experience working with distributed teams in the financial sector.

Experience with integrating Application Security into Agile Development practices.

Experience leading transformational enterprise security or IT projects.

Ability to assess and articulate threats, vulnerabilities, impact, likelihood, mitigations, and inherent and residual risks.

Collaborate with project teams to communicate security requirements and develop secure applications.

Lead a team of Application Security Engineers performing assessments, training, and operational support.
