Description We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Tucson, Arizona. This role is within the professional service industry where you will be actively involved in various accounting tasks including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and balance sheet reconciliations. Responsibilities: Assist in managing both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions and ensure their accuracy and timeliness. Perform balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all financial data is accurate. Handle general ledger entries and have a strong understanding of the general ledger system. Participate in the month-end close process. Utilize QuickBooks for various accounting duties as necessary - assist with client going through a new system implementation Handle any additional accounting tasks that may arise. Ensure all accounting tasks are performed in compliance with the industry regulations. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes. Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions when necessary.Requirements Must possess at least 2 years of experience in an accounting role Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management Experience in Bank Reconciliations is necessary Familiarity with General Ledger maintenance and management Must have the ability to handle Journal Entries Experience in Month End Close activities Proficiency in QuickBooks is required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Must have excellent organizational and multitasking skills Attention to detail and problem-solving ability are essential Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must adhere to strict confidentiality and data privacy standards.
