We are adding 3 Surveyors/Crew Chiefs to our district as we continue to grow and win major, complex construction projects. In this role, you will play an integral role in establishing and maintaining methods for safe, accurate and efficient Survey Field Operations. You will have responsibilities over field survey operations, and should plan to spend the majority of your time in the field performing survey field operations. We improve and connect communities across the United States through design and construction of complex projects in transportation, water/wastewater, power, oil and gas, chemical, commercial buildings, industrial operatoins and mining. We self-perform work such as mass grading, drainage, PCCP paving, utilities and more. We have a strong backlog of projects in the Southwest region and continue to bid and win new complex construction. Future projects may require relocation around the region which includes Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Idaho and New Mexico.ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for Survey/Party Chiefs to lead field crews executing Roadway/Bridge/Water/Wastewater and Rail/Transit projects in the region. You will have responsibilities to oversee Field Survey Operations which will include the following: Implementing the project survey plan specific to field operations. Oversee the operation with periodic reviews of record keeping, field procedures and survey audits to ensure that all work is performed in an efficient and professional manner. Maintain accurate and legible field notes. Setting and maintenance of control network. Performing layoutsQualifications Must be willing to work 50-60 hours per week, with possible weekend work. 3+ years' experience in Construction Survey, Dimensional Control, Industrial Measurement, or a related field is required; 3 + years experience leading Field Crews is required. Trimble experience is a plus Must be able to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry to perform calculations (area, volume, circumference, proportion, percentage) Dynamic thinker with the desire to lead, motivate and mentor teams Self-starter with the ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality and productivity Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong work ethic with the ability to work individually and as a team Committed to working safe and getting the job done right the first time Must have reliable transportationWorking Conditions Will manage a diverse workload; must be able to handle stress and immediate deadlines Must be able to interact professionally with all levels of management Occasionally lift and move objects up to 30 pounds Must be able to work regularly scheduled hours and occasional irregular hoursAdditional Requirements:Absent an approved exemption, due to federal, state, local, provincial and/or client-requirements, this position may require an individual to be fully vaccinated by an FDA-approved or authorized COVID-19 vaccine or undergo weekly testing upon hire and as a condition of continued employment.
