Job Overview A team of Oracle developers that specialize in engineering productivity tools developed in SQL, PL/SQL, JavaScript, Oracle Apex, and Oracle Forms, supporting product engineering aircraft software integration activities, is looking for a motivated individual to provide support for engineering users experiencing blocking issues, analyze and resolve latent bugs, assist team members in new functionality requirements gathering and design efforts, and perform basic Linux and Oracle DBA activities.Responsibilities and Duties
Analyze/resolve support log issues submitted by users and internal team members
Implement and test new functionality in both the database backend and user-interfaces
Maintain Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Application Express, and Forms on production and test servers
Monitor automated DB and Linux server image backups and intervene when necessary
Support/perform periodic data-translation activities
Perform basic DBA activities such as schema creation, SQL performance tuning, job monitoring, data migration/restoration, Oracle Application server maintenance, monthly server maintenance/patching on several physical and Cloud-based servers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering
Coursework/projects in the following areas:
Database technology such as Oracle (preferred), SQL Server, or MS Access
Web-development
Knowledge in any of the following specific areas a plus:
PL/SQL, Oracle Application Express, Oracle Forms, SQL Loader, Toad, SQL Developer
Oracle Data Dump, Oracle Enterprise Manager
Java, JavaScript, JQuery, React, Python, HTML
XML, JSON
KornShell, Bash, MS Batch programming
Avionics, electricity, electronics
Self-starter, quick-study, detail-oriented, strong communication/documentation skills
Works effectively on team collaborations or individually assigned tasks
