Must be available Onsite Phoenix, AZ.Position DescriptionThis position is responsible for system and/or network administration including installation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Job duties include: providing third tier technical support for system and/or network operating systems and applications; analyzing the impact of implementing new system hardware or software; recommending implementation schedule; conducting system analysis on current and proposed systems and applications; researching and recommending the acquisition of new software, tools, and equipment. PRIMARY DUTIES This job may include the following job duties and is not an all-inclusive list of all job duties that may be required. Employees will be required to perform other related duties as assigned. • Generate, tune, configure and upgrade the operating system • Troubleshoot and resolve server hardware, software and LAN connectivity problems • Maintain core infrastructure environment to include: monitoring, operations, vulnerability management, troubleshooting/repair and maintenance of physical and virtual core infrastructure devices in a 24/7 environment. • Maintain HPE synergy blade infrastructure. • Maintenance, and troubleshooting of VMware vSphere 6.5+ • Support and configure HPE and Dell blade infrastructure. • Work with helpdesk and trouble call software to prioritize and manage support calls. • Involved with daily compute operations tasks such as provisioning, compute connectivity, compute allocation, incident problem management and the troubleshooting of changes to enterprise infrastructure. • Manage priorities with respect to support calls and scheduled installations of hardware and software to ensure their timely completion. • Maintain high level of communication with customers with respect to scheduling hardware and software installations and support calls • Manage disk space and monitor other network resources • Evaluate system performance and report to management • Assist in system disaster recovery activities and enterprise backup • Define development tools and procedures for daily operational support • Coordinate installations: configure server-based and regular software packages onto network servers to facilitate deployment to clients • Maintain network security through security monitoring; firewall troubleshooting and maintenance; VPN support • Perform audits of systems/networks. • Recommend policy changes and maintains maintenance documentation. • Manage LAN accounts including additions, deletions, moves and changes. • Support application activities that require specialized system programming • Assist with software product evaluation, including installation, testing, and technical support for the applications programming and/or the computer operations staff • Represent the department at meetings • Be present at work site to perform assigned tasks at the times and date scheduled and/or assigned by the supervisor. • Senior: Works independently with only general supervision. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May coordinate activities of others. Understands customer needs and identifies solutions to non-standard requests. Solves moderately complex problems. Manages own time to meet objectives. Contributes to achievement of team goals; promotes teamwork Skills Required· Knowledge at the advanced to expert level of platforms such as: VMware, Windows 2016+, HPE Blade and Dell infrastructure, Rubrik, and Group Policy Scripting. · Must have advanced to expert knowledge level in overall computer operating procedures; server and workstation operating systems and platforms; current techniques and capabilities of local and wide area networks. · Ability to understand and clearly relate technical support information to other members of the organization as well as interacting with other agencies as needed. · Ability to understand and clearly relate technical support information to other members of the organization as well as interacting with other agencies as needed. Skills Preferred Experience Required; at least (5) five years of related experience providing third tier technical support for system and/or network operating systems and applications. Experience PreferredPreference will be given to those with the following experience: Proficiency in managing Enterprise scale VMware implementations, windows 2016 + Administration, HPE Synergy frame experience. Previous experience in a 3Par SAN environment is also preferred. This position requires self-motivation and exceptional problem-solving skills. Additionally, the position requires willingness and ability to work in an on-call 24/7/365 environment in order to perform functions that occur during non-business hours and weekends. Previous experience in a government environment is helpful. Education RequiredAssociate degree in Computer Science or a related field; Education PreferredBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and (2) two or more years work experience in a network administration, systems administration, systems programs or similar position will be given preference Additional Informationon site work only 7 AM- 4 PM 6 month contract
