Technical Architect

Position Description CGI is seeking a Technical Architect to join our team to support operations at our Phoenix Metro locations!

Seeking someone with consulting experience who can analyze, design, develop, configure and test systems and their integrations to meet stated requirements and build high functioning teams to support clients' business needs.

The role requires the ability to analyze detailed business and technical specifications and proposals and convert them into functionality (software) as well as the ability to manage complex systems over their life cycles.

Your future duties and responsibilities Responsible for analysis, design and implementation of technical and architecture solutions for the projects.

Support clients by developing solutions to their technical issues using their requirements. Also, the candidate will build and apply data-driven plans to find opportunities to improve quality.Ensure that project design, delivery timelines, and delivery follow the agreement.

Core Responsibilities:• Design, develop, document, test and debug larger and sophisticated applications software and systems• Recommend/design structure and tools for systems which meet business needs• Provide estimates, communicate system requirements to development team and review the work of developers• Specify user/system interfaces and translate designs into technical solutions considering of target environment, performance requirements and existing systems• Produce designs and detail all work, using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping/MVP where appropriate• Contribute to the development of coding, security standards, and processes• Work closely with the client and business analyst to ensure business and technical needs are met and additional needs are identified• Apply concepts and standard methodologies for designing, coding, testing and implementing application software that is delivered on time and within budget• Support the team in fixing technical issues• Keep track of new technologies and developments

Additional responsibilities:• Handle client and team meetings• Author and review design documents and other project deliverables• Stay in sync with project documentation standards• Understand work plan activities, and deliver accurate status on work completion• Identify and communicate issues in a timely manner• Mentor and assist in training less experienced technical staff• Able to act as team lead on projects

Required qualifications to be successful in this role• A minimum of 5 years relevant Technical Architect experience• 4+ years of with software development and system administration experience• Experience in project management• Experience in service-oriented architecture (SOA)• Knowledge of selected coding languages (e.g. JavaScript, Java)• Familiarity with various operating systems (e.g. Windows, UNIX) and databases (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle)• Demonstrable understanding of current trends in software development, architecture, and integration in other systems (eg. Cloud, Automation, APIs, DevOps, Mobile)• Database Engineering, development of CRUD procedures and functions• Understand and validate software requirements, focusing on quality attributes and other architectural drivers

Additional skills:• Ability to prioritize optimally, multitask, and manage time appropriately• Ability to build and maintain client relationship• Good interpersonal skills and clear communication skills• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills• Phenomenal attention to detail and following through

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills:• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field• Development Certifications: Commercial (JAVA, Microsoft, etc.), Open source• Cloud certification: e.g. Azure, Google Cloud, AWS - Amazon• RCDA• Agile certification: e.g. Certified SAFe Agile Software engineer, Professional Scrum Developer• Security certification: MIET - Member of IET, ISC2 CSSLP - www.isc2.org

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
