Position InformationClass Code: M053CGrade: GS06FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPTSalary Range: $36,155.00 - $57,668.00SummaryThe Child Care Service Specialist is responsible for monitoring compliance of child care facilities and providing technical assistance to facility operators. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.FunctionsInspects and evaluates existing and proposed child care facilities to monitor compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Provides technical assistance to facility operators by conducting workshops, answering inquiries, and providing child care related information. Recommends licensure, re-licensure with provision, and denial or revocation of license for facilities to Child Care Facility Review Board. Investigates and documents abuse and/or neglect or licensure complaints in conjunction with social service personnel, when necessary, to determine credibility. Informs and explains deficiencies requiring corrective action to facility operators, determines a recommendation for appropriate corrective action, establishes time frames for corrections and examines whether corrective action occurred. Prepares and maintains a case file on each facility and compiles the data into a monthly report. Works with the division and information technology group to maintain data regarding child care licensing.
