Position InformationClass Code: M052CGrade: GS06FLSA Status: EXEMPTSalary Range: $36,155.00 - $52,425.00SummaryThe Child Support Supervisor I is responsible for coordinating staff activities and providing assistance to participants with a child support enforcement program area. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.FunctionsSupervises a medium-sized to large staff by interviewing and recommending for hire, providing training and/or training opportunities, counseling and disciplining staff, evaluating the performance of incumbents, and reviewing supervisory recommendations. Coordinates the work activities of lower-level supervisory, professional, and administrative support staff by assigning and monitoring regular and special projects, receiving and approving work plans, schedules, project reports, and recommendations, disseminating and interpreting policies and procedures, and presenting in service training. Provides technical assistance to clients or provide by disseminating program information, interpreting or clarifying policies and procedures, investigating and resolving complaints and problems, and preparing and presenting training programs. Participates in the development of operating policies and procedures by analyzing the effectiveness of current practices, assessing unit needs, creating manual and computerized reporting tools, identifying budgetary needs, and maintaining updated operating manuals. Conducts research, compiles, and analyzes program and operating data, prepares correspondence, reports, and proposals, maintains records and ensures their security, and serves on committees. Performs other duties as assigned.DimensionsOccasional in-state travel may be required.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of the procedures and practices of personnel management and budgetary procedures. Knowledge of state and federal regulations and policies governing child support enforcement. Ability to supervise, plan, organize, and direct the work of others. Ability to develop, interpret, and apply state and federal regulations, guidelines, and policies. Ability to research, monitor, and evaluate program. Ability to present and review oral and written information and materials.Minimum QualificationsThe formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, management or a related field; plus one year of experience in applicable program operations or a related field; including one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity. Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
