Position InformationClass Code: X156CGrade: GS06FLSA Status: NON-EXEMPTSalary Range: $36,155.00 - $57,668.00SummaryThe Fraud Investigator is responsible for conducting field investigations to obtain evidence of various program fraud or abuse. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.FunctionsPerforms preliminary investigations of alleged fraud cases concerning Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Transitional Employment Assistance (TEA), Medicaid, and client abuse or employee misconduct. Conducts field investigations of alleged fraud cases by locating and interviewing witnesses, obtaining sworn statements, verifying existing information, and interviewing alleged offenders. Compiles evidence and prepares technical reports including exhibits and sworn statements for submission to a prosecuting attorney. Provides technical assistance to field office staff by interpreting policies and procedures and discussing problems. Testifies in court as an expert witness.
