This is an opportunity for a highly-motivated mainframe middleware systems programmer who is interested in leading our mainframe modernization efforts. You will be working directly with application teams on their modernization plans, utilizing and exploiting the latest technologies available in the mainframe platform. You will also research, pilot and recommend best practices and use cases for bridging mainframe, server and cloud applications and data. In addition, you will be responsible for installing, configuring and supporting mainframe middleware software products. This position requires being in an on-call rotation, providing 24x7 support with occasional weekend work required.

Install, support, customize, test, implement and document IBM Middleware software and related program products in a global environment. Products include z/OS Connect, zMQ, Db2 Connect, and Db2 Data Studio.

Participate in a cross-functional team to lead the mainframe server platform modernization efforts.

Develop, test, and implement system modifications and support procedures.

Respond to system trouble notifications. Analyze, debug and correct system software and configuration issues. When needed, interface with software vendors, data center and customer personnel to resolve issues.

Assist customers with troubleshooting and issue resolution.

Participate in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and testing.

Evaluate software products and make acquisition recommendations to management.

Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after hours and weekend support.

Five plus years of systems programming experience working with z/OS Connect, zMQ, Db2, Db2 Data Studio, Db2 Connect, z/OS Operating System, Tivoli Omegamon, JES2/JES3, RACF, TSO/ISPF, COBOL, REXX, JCL, and Unix System Services.

Working knowledge of API development on the z/OS platform using z/OS Connect.

Excellent problem resolution and team collaboration skills.

Ability to work under pressure to resolve critical production issues.

Excellent communication skills.

Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Willingness to learn and explore new technologies.

Highly motivated to lead our modernization efforts in the mainframe server environment.
