Overview:

Directly reports to the Imaging Services Nuclear Medicine manager and Medical Director(s) of the Department of Nuclear Medicine. Responsible for assessing patient’s condition, evaluating exam appropriateness and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients. Additional responsibilities include analyzing computer-acquired data, archiving images to PACS, performing quality control for all equipment, and adhering to radiation safety standards. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Five years of experience in a hospital-based setting.
  • Required Education: Certificate of completion from a formal Nuclear Medicine training program in a degree or certificate program is required. Continuing education creditsper NMTCB/ARRT guidelines.
  • Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree
  • Certifications/Licensures: Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist - Nuclear (RT-N). Must have a current BLS certification provider card or complete a course within a probationary period. ACLS preferred. Certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board or ARRT.
  • Other: Excellent communicator in written and verbal format; ability to handle complex situations; strong team player.
