The Senior Application Developer is responsible for development and maintenance of Tandem HP Non-Stop application systems that support critical core business functions.The work is completed 100% remote anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or United States Territories.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Document and development processes for multiple applications, programs and platforms.
- Troubleshoot and perform resolution of Incidents for Legacy Finance and Order Processing.
- Participate in one week support rotation every seven weeks and assist business as needed.
- Develop business critical applications across a variety of platforms and functional areas.
- Create, refine and implement solutions that requires integration across multiple platforms.
- Develop testing approach and test cases to validate core business functional changes.
- Define and explain requirements and impact on enhanced or altered system components.
- Contribute technical knowledge and historical experience to enhance US Foods practices.
- Assist with Technical Design and review peer submissions for viability and accuracy.
- Create Requests for Change and documents as needed to promote production installs.
- Contribute to peer reviews, creates unit test cases, and document code as required.
- Collaborate and assist off-shore developers with deliverables to ensure quality.
- Documents system functionality and provide work estimates when requested.
- Update code as needed to address defects and improve production stability.
- B.S. in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Information Technology
- Minimum 2 years of experience designing and developing on Tandem Non-Stop Systems
- COBOL, SCOBOL, Pathway, TACL, SQL, TMF, Enscribe, FUP, SCUP, Peruse
- Einspect, Enscribe, Netbatch, Guardian OS
- Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & MS Project)
- RMS (Revision Management System)
- Financial Systems Background
- IBM Mainframe Background or Interface Experience
- Understanding of Legacy Systems and best practices used for supporting.
- Ability to analyze and understand complex existing processes and application code.
- Career concentration with Financial and/or Order Entry.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with IT Management and extended teams.
- Generate solutions to complex problems across multiple business or technical areas.
- Ability to self-organize work from specs and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Strong analytical skills capable of understanding technical and functional requirements.
- Ability to document functional business requirements and extend them to IT teams.
- Ability to work remote in a productive manner.
- Previous experience with troubleshooting Legacy application-related issues.
- Excellent communication and strong self-managed organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in small and large teams.
