$20-$22/Hr. Assistant Maintenance Mechanic (Montebello, CA)

We are a pillow manufacturing company and we are currently looking for an assistant maintenance mechanic to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for troubleshooting production machines, replacing defective parts and also fabricating parts when needed.

Essential duties and job functions

Assist in ensuring efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing Corrective Maintenance on feather production machines and parts following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and engineering specifications.

Troubleshooting malfunctions and locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems and testing parts.

Removing defective parts by dismantling the devices and replaces with new or reconditioned parts.

Fabricating repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

Assist in planning Preventive Maintenance of machinery to include; servicing internal working parts, cleaning mechanical instruments, creating schedule of planned maintenance in accordance with production schedule.

Servicing electrical components of plant.

Maintaining safe and clean working environment through compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic systems; chains and sprockets; air compressors; PLCs; engineering background a plus.

Welding, fabrication and metalworking.

Ability to lift and carry 25 – 75 pounds daily.

2-3 years’ experience as industrial mechanic or maintenance role

Knowledge of OSHA regulations

Lock out/Tagout protocols

Schedule & Pay:

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Shift: 1st / 7AM-3:30PM
