Accountant - Entry Level

Description We are in search of an Entry Level Accountant for our retail operations in Manhattan Beach, California. This role offers a contract-to-hire employment opportunity. As an Entry Level Accountant, you will be tasked with data entry, auditing, and resolving billing discrepancies. The position requires strong skills in Microsoft Excel and attention to detail.Responsibilities: Conduct detailed data entry tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Clarify and verify information during audits, ensuring all data is correct and up to date. Review post-audit pricing and resolve any discrepancies found. Handle issues related to incorrectly billed chargebacks and rectify them promptly. Analyze and compare customer payments against billed amounts. Conduct post-audit billing research and take necessary corrective actions. Use multiple software screens to access and update customer information. Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable/Billing/Pricing team to ensure smooth operations. Resolve customer inquiries related to billing and payments in a timely manner. Monitor customer accounts regularly and take appropriate action when needed. Requirements Candidate must have at least one year of experience in the retail industry. Proficiency in data entry is required. Must have strong skills in MS Excel and Microsoft Excel. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in work. Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Familiarity with accounting software and applications is a plus. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
