Description We are a thriving organization based in San Diego, dedicated to excellence and innovation in our field. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our finance team on a contract basis, with the potential for permanent employment depending on performance and organizational needs.Position Overview:As an Accounting Assistant, you will support the accounting department with various tasks including data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.Key Responsibilities:

Data Entry: Accurately enter financial data into accounting software, ensuring that all transactions are recorded in a timely manner.

Reconciliation: Assist with monthly bank reconciliations and ensure that all discrepancies are investigated and resolved.

Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage payment schedules, and follow up on outstanding receivables. Prepare and maintain accurate records for accounts payable and receivable.

Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial reports, including expense reports, budget tracking, and general ledger maintenance.

Documentation: Maintain organized financial records and files, ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date.

Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the accounting team, including scheduling meetings and coordinating communications.

Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or administrative role. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar is a plus.

Skills: Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.

Knowledge: Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
